Weymouth Maritime Modelling Festival

One of the Resorts great events successess over the last decade. The Weymouth International Maritime Modelling Festival organised by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council in conjunction with the South West Association of Model Boat Clubs.
A full weekend brimming with truely interesting and fascinating models from the World of Maritime Modelling.
Over 1,000 static models will be on display in the Pavilion Ocean
Room, trade stands, marine craft exhibition, live warship battles, children
model paddle tug workshops.
At Radipole Lake there will be a magnificent lakeside display of model boats and a packed programme of action with "live commentary" on the water.
Weymouth's Pleasure Pier will be the explosive venue, with spectacular viewing for a round of the National Grand Prix Power Boat Racing - one not to be missed.
In addition to this, the Festival will again play a major role within the "Spirit of the Sea" Maritime Festival (Satuday 3 to Friday 16 July). This unique Festival will take place annually creating a magnificent legacy event for Weymouth and Portland, celebrating the area's rich heritage and relationship with the sea.
