For events and entertainment, Weymouth and Portland has so much to offer, whatever the weather. As the host of the sailing events for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are certainly geared up for all expectations!

All year round entertainment, daytime and evening, including International, sports, cultural and community events, there really is something for everyone. Weymouth Beach and Esplanade is the home of many of the events and festivals that take place in the borough throughout the year, and most of these are free to spectate.

Fireworks over Weymouth Bay Most of these events take place during the day, and for some, including Weymouth Sea Festival, Carnival and Show Night, the streets come alive with stalls, markets exhibitions, games and funfairs.

As night-time approaches, the resort comes alive with a new-found atmosphere. Why not enjoy an evening meal on the harbour and watch the comings and goings of boats and other crafts?

There are many bars and clubs for the young-at-heart with various themed nights and regular live music from some great local bands.

Watch the fireworks light up the bay, or catch a show at the theatre, but most of all keep your options open and take a look at the wide variety of entertainment on offer!
